The main railway station in Rome is called Termini. It is serviced by a shuttle from Fiumicino every thirty minutes called the Leonardo Express - tickets currently cost €9.80 Termini is also connected to Ciampino vai regular bus services including TerraVision who have an office on the north side of Termini station.
There is then a second railway station called Tiburtina and whilst there are trains direct from Termini to Sulmona there is more choice from Tiburtina. To travel from Termini to Tiburtina the most convenient method is via the underground (Metropolitana) - tickets cost €1
Note that it is also possibe to travel directly from Fiumicino to Tiburtina vai the Fr1 train which runs every 20 minutes and costs €5.00 for a ticket. Travelling from Pescara airport, first take the 38 bus to the central rail and bus station, trains and buses then run regularly to Sulmona.
